THI Board of Trustees Announces Director of Communications

Houston, TX (December 13, 2018) – The Texas Heart Institute announced Keri Sprung has been named Director of Communications.

Sprung brings to THI more than 20 years of work and volunteer experience relevant to THI’s mission. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Natural Sciences, she worked with the cardiovascular division of Pfizer providing institutional support to the Texas Heart Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston VAMC, St. Luke’s and a number of clinics in the Texas Medical Center. As Vice President of Marketing for a biotech company in Austin, Texas, she provided strategic direction for the commercialization of innovative medical device technologies and was a member of the executive team involved with new business development, sales team development and investor relations. She also co-founded two medical device companies and has served as an advisor to several non-profits.

Sprung joined THI in 2012 and has served in various capacities, including Special Assistant to Regenerative Medicine Research and Office of the President, Center for Women’s Heart & Vascular Health Program Manager, and Director of Constituent Relations.

She will continue to serve as the Program Manager for the Center for Women’s Heart & Vascular Health under the direction of Dr. Stephanie Coulter, overseeing their collaborative women focused research, education and outreach projects across the Institution, the Texas Medical Center and nationally.
