Texas Heart Institute’s (THI) commitment to education sets it apart from other major cardiovascular centers. The Institute’s educational activities include postdoctoral and allied training programs, seminars, symposia, grand rounds, scientific publications and public education outreach. Visitors will find the Wallace D. Wilson Museum with educational displays, historic items covering scientific breakthroughs in treating heart disease, and the Celebration of Hearts art collection.

Seminar Series & Daily Conferences

Texas Heart Institute offers a collection of live activities as part of its commitment to furthering the education of physicians and other medical professionals on cardiovascular health and patient care. The Institute’s offerings include: THI Cardiology Grand Rounds  (CME credits and Live Webcasting available), The James T. Willerson, M.D. Cardiovascular Science Seminar Series, THI Cardiology Education Conferences and other special educational events.

Continuing Medical Education

THI Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) has been recognized as an accredited provider for over 35 years, and in 2016 was awarded Accreditation with Commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)Sign up to receive updates & offerings from THI CME

School of Perfusion Technology

Texas Heart Institute was the first to have an accredited School of Perfusion Technology in the United States. The program, which began in 1976, offers a post-baccalaureate certificate in perfusion technology through its 12-month course. New classes begin every six months in January and July.
