Texas Heart Institute departments have several collaborative student engagement projects underway in partnership with various community and academic organizations. Host laboratories and programs include: Cardiomyocyte Renewal Laboratory, Cardiovascular Surgery Research, Center for Clinical Research, Center for Women’s Heart & Vascular Health, Electrophysiology Clinical Research & Innovations, Molecular Cardiology Research Lab, and Regenerative Medicine Research.
International Exchange Student Outreach
Each year, the Texas Heart Institute Molecular Cardiology Department hosts exchange students as part of a SEMESTER ABROAD PROGRAM (SAP) AT SRM UNIVERSITY— one of India’s top-ranked universities. Students spend six months at THI gaining first-hand experience as part of their research training activity under the mentorship of THI staff members.Learn More
Project Heart Cool-E Merit Badge
Kids can learn the importance of staying fit for heart health with robot “Cool-E” of PROJECT HEART fame while exploring heart anatomy, the cardiovascular system, healthy eating and exercise. Tea Cart with Heart
TEA CART WITH HEART directly supports the Texas Heart Institute’s Center for Women’s Heart & Vascular Health’s goals to raise awareness with staff, doctors and nurses about the importance of women’s heart health. The cart serves as a vehicle to unite the research staff, students, collaborators, and BSLMC hospital staff around the THI mission and helps the department inform teams about various projects, events & educational programs across THI that focus on women. Two Available Volunteer positions at all times and a commitment of 15 weeks is required.Apply Here
