Texas Heart Institute Announces New Administrative Director of the Center for Clinical Research

Texas Heart Institute (THI) announces the promotion of Aryn Knight to Administrative Director of THI’s Center for Clinical Research. Launched in 2018 under the direction of THI’s Medical Director, Dr. Emerson C. Perin, the Center supports all areas of cardiovascular research on human subjects at THI and its affiliates.

 

Aryn is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) with more than 17 years of direct experience in clinical research in cardiology, pediatrics, gastroenterology, neonatal intensive care, psychiatry, psychology, and neurology in academic and hospital environments.

 

She brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of clinical research compliance, operations, and program management, including protocol development, regulatory filings, trial facilitation, and post-trial assessment and reporting.

 

Aryn will oversee a team of experts who support clinical research management activities for all of THI’s research departments, in addition to outsourced clinical research management activities for private practice and academic clinicians.

 

Since 2013, Aryn has served as the Chair for the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) Greater Houston/Galveston chapter and is currently a member of the national SoCRA governance committee. Additionally, she is an active Chairperson for the TMC Clinical Research Training and Education Committee.
