Mark J. Villalpando

Originally from Shiner, Texas, I am a Houston artist and graphic designer. I have been involved in marketing or creating graphic work for over 20 years. As a painter, my artwork is created out of the need to inform people about the complex social struggles of Chicano and indigenous people. Before I came to the Texas Heart Institute, I was a Houston-area high school art educator and adjunct professor. In addition to art and design, I enjoy travelling, working out, cooking, home-remodeling, and gardening. My partner and I are also the proud owners of two fur babies: Chito and Frida.
