Belinda,

There are many ways of delivering stems cells to the heart, from direct injection in open heart surgery to catheter-based delivery. For patients with heart failure, we use electromechanical mapping technology (NOGA Mapping). This is based on Israeli technology for missile tracking and allows us to track a catheter inside the heart in real time. A simple explanation is that we map the heart for the damaged areas and then inject stem cells 15 to 20 times from the inside out.
