Texas Heart Institute Research & Education Video Highlight

Texas Heart Institute (THI) pursues special projects that provide an opportunity for college and graduate school students to gain practical experience in their major. This summer, two college interns spent the summer researching the Texas Heart Institute’s nearly sixty year old archive of historic videos and photographs to create a beautiful glimpse into a typical day at THI.

Under the mentorship of the Visual Communications team, Carlos Uribe and Payton Campbell helped to produce an inspirational video that highlights the progressive research and training programs across the Texas Heart Institute.

The video includes historic footage of Dr. Denton A. Cooley and events that shaped patient care today. It features scientists, engineers and physicians contributing to THI’s innovative research in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, cell and gene therapy, arrhythmia treatments and regenerative medicine. The production also captures the progressive postdoctoral and continued medical education, public outreach and scientific publications programs that spread awareness and share important updates on ways to prevent, treat and defeat cardiovascular disease.

“Our team enjoyed working with Carlos and Payton on this production. They brought a refreshing, new perspective to the digital project and were instrumental to the completion of the video from start to finish,” said Keri Sprung, Director of Communications.
