More than 20 years ago, after graduating with a PhD from Texas A&M College of Medicine, Rebecca trained to become a science editor/writer under the direction of Marianne Mallia, the founder of Scientific Publications at the Texas Heart Institute. Since then, she has worked almost continuously in some capacity for THI as either a freelance editor or a full-time employee. She earner her PhD degree is in Medical Sciences, with a research focus in immunology and cell biology. She has extensive experience editing and writing in many topics dealing with basic science concepts and clinical and translational medicine.
