Houston History Magazine Features Dr. Denton A. Cooley in Fall Milestones Issue

Houston History magazine, published by the Center for Public History at UoH, dedicated its fall issue to some of the most significant milestones in history that happened right here in Houston. In this issue, Kenan Nerad chronicles the extraordinary life of Dr. Denton A. Cooley and illuminates the tremendous impact of his legacy that continues to save lives around the world today.

While Kenan was earning his degree in biotechnology and history at the University of Houston (UoH), he worked in the Texas Heart Institute’s Cullen Cardiovascular Surgery Research Laboratory in the Center for Preclinical Surgical & Interventional Research.  

The article includes historic videos and photos, including the 2011 Bullock Texas State History Museum’s video honoring Dr. Cooley.
