Dr. O.H. Frazier – A True Medical Pioneer Honored

This week friends, family and colleagues honored Dr. O. H. Frazier, 2021 recipient of the prestigious Scientific Achievement Award from the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), at an intimate ceremony in the Texas Heart Institute Ansary Atrium.

Established in 1994, the Award honors those who have achieved scientific contributions in the field of thoracic surgery worthy of the highest recognition that the Association can bestow. Previous Houston recipients include two of the most distinguished cardiothoracic surgeons in the history of the field, Dr. Michael DeBakey (1999) and Dr. Denton Cooley (2000).

Elyse Lanier, presented Dr. Frazier with a City of Houston Proclamation on behalf of Mayor Sylvester Turner and surgeons from around the world attended virtually and shared their gratitude for Dr. Frazier’s immeasurable contributions to advancing cardiovascular care that has improved lives around the world. Read the full story by Shelby Hodge
