Dr. Mendel Chen Joins the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine

THI scientist Chu-Huang (Mendel) Chen, MD, PhD, has joined the Editorial Board of international experts at Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine. In his new role as Associate Editor, Dr. Chen will specifically oversee the peer-review of manuscripts submitted to the specialty section Lipids in Cardiovascular Disease.

Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine is a multidisciplinary open-access journal that publishes peer-reviewed research articles in basic, translational, and clinical cardiovascular medicine. The journal covers all aspects of cardiovascular medicine, with an emphasis on studies that challenge the status quo of treatments and practices in cardiovascular care or that facilitate the translation of scientific advances into the clinic as new therapies or diagnostic tools.

Dr. Chen has been at The Texas Heart Institute since 2009 and serves as Director of Vascular & Medicinal Research in the Department of Molecular Cardiology Research at THI. His ongoing research focuses on electronegative lipoproteins and their roles in vascular biology and disease, and he has co-authored more than 170 scientific publications to date.
