In Memoriam: Jorge Guttin, MD

The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine mourns the passing of Jorge Guttin, MD, a beloved physician, colleague, and leader whose life and work helped shape the Institute’s history. Dr. Guttin served as President of the Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society and was widely known for his exceptional clinical judgment, deep compassion for patients, and warm, engaging spirit.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Guttin touched countless lives, whether caring for patients in Houston, serving as a physician in Israel during the Six Day War, or mentoring colleagues with humility and humor. His dedication to healing was matched only by his devotion to his family, his community, and his belief in bringing joy and humanity into everything he did.
