THI & ExxonMobil Observe National Women’s Health Week

The ExxonMobil Culture of Health team hosted THI at another important Wellness Wednesday event this week. ExxonMobil’s employees filled the Horizon Auditorium on the beautiful Houston campus and many others participated online from around the globe.

Dr. Stephanie Coulter was invited back in observance of National Women’s Health Week and National Stroke Month to share lifesaving information and encourage ExxonMobil employees to remain relentless in their efforts to prevent heart and vascular disease.

Dr. Coulter’s first goal was to remind everyone that both women and men are at risk for developing heart diseases and suffering a sudden stroke.

After an enlightening tour of the anatomy of the heart and vascular system and a review of the various cardiovascular conditions and types of stroke, she shared the important message that everything we do to reduce the risk of heart attack reduces the risk of stroke.

“It is critical that we all keep an eye on our numbers and know the signature signs of both heart attack and stroke,” said Dr. Coulter.

She underscored the importance of monitoring risk factors, taking care of one another as a community, and the many benefits of taking advantage of employee wellness resources and programs promoting healthy behaviors.

We thank the Culture of Health team for their dedication and leadership and for sharing their best practices with us and other organizations throughout the community. We look forward to returning again next year.
