Since it’s beginning in 1962 by renowned cardiac surgeon, Denton A. Cooley, The Texas Heart Institute has been a leader in cardiovascular health and discovery. In July 2025, The Texas Heart Institute entered into a strategic agreement with Baylor College of Medicine to create The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. This integration brings together two of the nation’s leading institutions in cardiovascular care, research, and education to advance their shared mission of improving heart health for all. By combining the expertise and resources of both organizations, the new Center is well positioned to innovate, grow, and serve you with excellence for years to come.
