ke%29%20and%20bleeding%20events%20%28GUSTO%20classification%20moderate%20or%20severe%20bleeding%29.%20Death%20at%2021%20months%20after%20randomization%20%2833%20months%20after%20coronary%20stenting%29.%5CnResults%3A%20In%20total%2C%2025%5Cu202f682%20individuals%20older%20than%2018%20years%20with%20an%20indication%20for%20coronary%20stenting%20were%20enrolled%2C%20and%2011%5Cu202f648%20%28mean%20age%2C%2061.3%20years%3B%2025.1%25%20female%29%20were%20randomized.%20After%20randomization%2C%20478%20individuals%20%284.1%25%29%20had%20502%20ischemic%20events%20%28306%20with%20myocardial%20infarction%2C%20113%20with%20stent%20thrombosis%2C%20and%2083%20with%20ischemic%20stroke%29%2C%20and%20232%20individuals%20%282.0%25%29%20had%20235%20bleeding%20events%20%28155%20with%20moderate%20and%2080%20with%20severe%20bleeding%29.%20Among%20individuals%20with%20ischemic%20events%2C%2052%20%2810.9%25%29%20died.%20The%20annualized%20mortality%20rate%20after%20an%20ischemic%20event%20was%2027.2%20%2895%25%20CI%2C%2020.3-35.7%29%20per%20100%20person-years.%20The%20cumulative%20incidence%20of%20death%20after%20an%20ischemic%20event%20among%20the%20total%20randomized%20study%20population%20was%200.5%25%20%280.3%25%20with%20myocardial%20infarction%2C%200.1%25%20with%20stent%20thrombosis%2C%20and%200.1%25%20with%20ischemic%20stroke%29.%20Among%20individuals%20with%20bleeding%20events%2C%2041%20%2817.7%25%29%20died.%20The%20annualized%20mortality%20rate%20after%20a%20bleeding%20event%20was%2021.5%20%2895%25%20CI%2C%2015.4-29.1%29%20per%20100%20person-years.%20The%20cumulative%20incidence%20of%20death%20after%20a%20bleeding%20event%20among%20the%20total%20randomized%20study%20population%20was%200.3%25%20%280.1%25%20with%20moderate%20and%200.2%25%20with%20severe%20bleeding%29.%5CnConclusions%20and%20Relevance%3A%20In%20patients%20treated%20with%20dual%20antiplatelet%20therapy%20for%20at%20least%201%20year%20after%20coronary%20stenting%2C%20ischemic%20events%20were%20more%20frequent%20than%20bleeding%20events%2C%20and%20both%20events%20were%20associated%20with%20high%20risk%20of%20mortality.%5CnTrial%20Registration%3A%20clinicaltrials.gov%20Identifier%3A%20NCT00977938.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%22May%2001%2C%202017%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22eng%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1001%5C%2Fjamacardio.2017.0063%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%222380-6591%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%22MGN9A7SF%22%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222019-01-04T21%3A53%3A00Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
