Texas Heart Institute—January 4, 2022– The Texas Heart Institute will present the James T. Willerson, MD Editor’s Choice Awards at a ceremony on June 17, 2022 The awards will be presented to three teams who published original research articles in the Texas Heart Institute Journal in 2021.

 

The Editor’s Choice Awards are made possible by a gift from lifetime supporter of THI and former board member Morton Cohn and the Texas Heart Institute Board to honor Dr. Willerson, the Journal’s former Editor-in-Chief and THI President Emeritus who, until his passing in the fall of 2020, was committed to providing physicians and healthcare professionals with information related to all aspects of treating patients who have cardiovascular disease. His standards for excellence in research and scientific publishing were unsurpassed, and the Journal’s readership continues to grow because of the strong foundation he built.
