Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society Twelfth Symposium

August 21, 2020 | 11:00 am4:30 pm CDT

The Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society was founded in 1989 to provide an avenue for the exchange of ideas relating to the clinical and research activities among the present and former cardiac fellows, trainees, and teaching staff of the Texas Heart Institute. The society also coordinates social activities for its members. The symposium is an educational tradition coordinated by The Society members and designed for cardiologists, imaging specialists, and internists with a special focus on TAVR, peripheral vascular and coronary disease, structural heart disease, electrophysiology treatments, and prevention.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, and our concern for everyone’s safety, the event will take place virtually and broadcasted live from the Denton A. Cooley building on Friday, August 21, 2020, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The meeting is open to all cardiology fellows; residents; medical students and other individuals with an interest in cardiovascular advancements.

This year’s keynote, Dr. William (Billy) Cohn, will present “Past, Present, and Future of the Total Artificial Heart.” The program will include presentations by several leaders in their field, including Drs. Zvonimir Krajcer, Neil Strickman, O.H. Frazier, Emerson Perin, Reynolds Delgado, and John J. Seger.

Attendees will learn from engaging, interactive case presentations that will allow clinicians and faculty to discuss specific treatment challenges and methods that will be useful in their practices.
