A long tradition for the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is to wear the colors pink and green, but in February, the AKAs join millions of Americans in the fight against heart disease in women by wearing RED!
In keeping with our target of enhancing the community’s understanding of current health issues, each year in February for national heart month, we seek a partnership whereby we can disseminate materials around heart health, and promote healthy living through fitness activities and walking. Our theme is “Pink Goes Red”, indicative of our signature pink becoming red for heart health.
The program will be held via Zoom (Coming Soon!)
Texas Heart Institute’s Dr. Briana Costello will give an enlightening presentation on heart health.
Her presentation will be followed by a virtual line dancing class to get our hearts pumping!
