The risk reduction consultation is a one-on-one lifestyle evaluation for individuals with significant cardiovascular disease risk factors or chronic heart-related diseases. St. Luke’s multidisciplinary lifestyle specialists will provide education and coaching for lifestyle/behavior change to meet personalized goals for risk reduction or chronic disease management. All consultations will require a physician order and a copy of patient’s history/physical, medications, lab results and most recent stress test.
Exercise Consultations
People of all ages who are habitually sedentary can improve their health, fitness, and well-being by becoming even moderately active. Physical activity reduces the risk of cardiovascular mortality, coronary heart disease, obesity, hypertension, breast and colon cancer and diabetes mellitus while improving musculoskeletal strength and mental health. Consistent exercise routine can reduce the amount of necessary interventions and medications while improving the overall management of chronic disease. The staff utilizes standards set by the American College of Sports medicine and the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
