Question:

Can my stenotic, bovine aortic valve be corrected by TAVI?

I have a 14 year old bovine aortic valve with moderately severe stenosis. My cardiologist mentioned an experimental procedure to insert a stent into the aortic valve. Is the TAVI procedure suitable to replace valves such as mine if no other health issues are present?

The procedure known as Valve in Valve TAVR is no longer experimental and is being done worldwide. Check with you local TAVR cardiologist or surgeon in your area to see if you are a candidate.
