Question:

Why would avocados be limited in my father’s diet after a heart attack?

Hello, my dad had a heart attack. In his nutrition books, it says to eat avocados only two times a week. Can you please explain why since everywhere it says that avocados are very healthy? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure why the diet book would limit avocados to twice per week for any condition. It would be helpful to know if the diet book was given for heart disease or a special diet that goes along with medication, like Coumadin. Avocado’s fat is a healthy fat, thus in general, we do not restrict it.
