Can a person who is 100% pacemaker dependent continue working?

Is it safe for a 50 year old to continue working if you are 100% dependent on your pacemaker, or should a person prepare for retirement?

by Texas Heart Institute cardiologist, Abdi Rasekh, MD

Abdi Rasekh, MDIt is safe to work. Pacemakers are very reliable. However, if somebody is 100% pacer dependent, he or she cannot work in an environment in which there is significant electromagnetic interference, large engines, power plants, etc.
