CME Information - Overview

With the proliferation of endovascular devices for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, the role of these novel therapies has raised considerable controversy. This presentation highlights these controversies and discusses future trials and opportunities.

Educational Objectives
The intended result of this activity is increased knowledge. At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to-

  • Describe the potential role of carotid artery stenting in patients with extracranial carotid artery disease.
  • Discuss the controversies surrounding therapy for renal artery stenosis, including challenges facing the CORAL Trial.
  • Review current data on the role of endovascular therapy for peripheral artery disease.

Target Audience
The intended audience for this continuing medical education activity includes cardiologists, physicians, and cardiovascular surgeons with an interest in the latest diagnostic and treatment options for peripheral arterial disease.

Method of Instruction / Participation
This enduring material comprises slide sets with text and audio derived from a live cardiology grand rounds presentation with post activity assessment and evaluation.
