Course Overview
This enduring material presents an update on selected topics in cardiology, highlighting areas of controversy, areas of recent advancement, and areas of particular interest to clinicians. The original program provided interactivity with registrants who had the opportunity to pose questions in advance of the symposium. Selected questions were addressed during the program.
Educational Objectives
The intended result of this activity is increased knowledge. At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to

- Summarize recent scientific advances and clinical guidelines for lipids management.
- Discuss the role of CT angiography in current practice.
- Critically evaluate modern therapies for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
- Provide perspective on how the treatment of ACS has evolved over the last decade.
- Discuss the past, present, and future roles of biomarkers in cardiovascular disease management.
- Highlight recent advances in the treatment of CHF.
- Summarize recent scientific information and guidelines for the use of implantable defibrillators.
- Discuss recent advances in percutaneous coronary intervention.
- Summarize recent CV surgical techniques and advances.
- Provide an update on recent advances in stem cell therapy and discuss its use in the management of heart failure.

This enduring material is intended for cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, clinical researchers, sub-specialty trainees, nurses, and hospital administrators.
