Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM)

 

In patients with "HOCM" there is LV outlet obstruction due to "ASH" and "SAM" and varying degrees of mitral regurgitation.

Maneuvers which reduce ventricular volume increase the obstruction and murmur and conversely maneuvers which increase the ventricular volume reduce the obstruction and murmur.
