The reasons for giving are as diverse as the ways in which donors make gifts.
We are fortunate to have donors who support the work of the Texas Heart Institute during their lifetimes, and who are also inspired to leave enduring legacies through planned gifts.
For example, our long-time friend and supporter, Robert Mosbacher, Sr. chose to create a legacy gift for THI through the use of a life insurance policy. His involvement with THI was broad and deep. Among other things, he served on THI's Board of Trustees and National Advisory Council, co-chaired a capital campaign and was honored during the 2008 Denton A. Cooley Leadership Award dinner. Bob and his wife Mica wanted to make a difference in the lives of others by giving to THI. Mica's father, Dr. John McCutchen was affiliated with the Texas Heart Institute as Chief of Staff of Neurology and her mother, Jane, had open heart surgery through the Institute.
There are many other ways to make legacy gifts.
Some are as easy as including THI in your will. Others are more complex. You don't have to be wealthy. Your planned gift, no matter what size, can help perpetuate the life-changing, lifesaving research and medical advancements of the Texas Heart Institute.
We welcome your interest. If you have questions or would like additional information about including the Texas Heart Institue in your will, or other planned giving opportunitites, please call us at 832-355-3792.
