Scientific Publications

Staff

Five scientific medical editor/writers with 100 cumulative years of experience comprise the section of Scientific Publications within the Department of Publications and Communications. Our editors are certified by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) and by the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA).

Description of Services

The section of Scientific Publications was established to provide the Texas Heart Institute staff with professional scientific editorial services for the following types of projects:

  • Manuscripts
  • Journal articles, including resubmission articles
  • Book chapters
  • Review articles
  • Monographs
  • Case reports
  • Abstracts
  • Book reviews
  • Editorials
  • Poster sessions
  • Slides
  • Presentations
  • Galley reading
  • Grants

The editors in Scientific Publications will work with you—the author—and the journal or book publisher to expedite the publication process. Our staff can edit for grammar or make substantive changes, whichever you prefer. Our goal is to promote accuracy and clarity of information in manuscripts from the Institute. We can assist authors in all aspects of publication, including interaction with journals and publishers, necessary correspondence, galley proofreading, project management, and instruction on how to prepare a scientific manuscript.

The editors in Scientific Publications suggest these helpful links for authors who are preparing scientific manuscripts.
